Adaline’s newborn session was one that I was looking forward to in an extra special way. I was able to photograph her mom and dad’s beautiful journey into parenthood, spending an evening together photographing Linda’s beautiful bump, and then being lucky enough to photograph the night this lovely little girl was born.

She is every bit as adorable as I knew she would be and she’s even more loved than I could have ever imagined.

Say hello to my new little friend, Adaline. [With some little notes about her from her beautiful mama.]

“We told our family we are flying home to celebrate Carlos’ be-lated birthday. A LOT of people showed up (unexpectedly). We announced our pregnancy with a gigantic cardboard box filled with baby balloons and monkey (its the year of the monkey) and had our parents open it at the party. Everyone cried.

The box also had a black balloon. We found out Adaline‘s gender at the announcement party with the whole family debating if I was having a girl or boy.”

“Adaline was named after her late great grandmother Ada. Her middle name Phuong-Lan means ‘orchid – having direction.'”

“[The best parts of my pregnancy were] seeing her hiccups for the first time at ultrasound and hearing her heartbeat, and also eating chips at 3am in the dark in bed (guilt free). LOL”

“I took nesting to a whole new level. Had to hire an organizer to get me out of my own closet. Something happened with diaper rash cream… never assume you have enough — I bought a year supply (every kind).”

“Being new parents is exhausting, even more than we expected. But worth every minute. ”

And their sage advice for other expecting moms and dads: “Sleep now!”
