Little Despina was such a sweet and dainty little thing. I’m pretty sure I just went on and on about how dainty she was through her entire session. She had the sweetest little girly features that looked darling in all of the creams that her mama had requested.
Her mom and dad were understandably over the moon about their little girl. They had waited to find out her gender until the moment she was born and mom said, “It was the best to go through all that work to grow her and birth her and find out in that special first moment of her life!”
Allow me to introduce you to, Despina Rose.
“I found out I was pregnant the day before leaving to see my family in Georgia. My dad was playing a benefit concert for my nephews’ school, so I would be seeing my whole family (mom, dad, sister, brother-in-law, nephews). It was the last time we would all be together for several months since my mom and dad were leaving town for a couple of months. It was Mother’s Day weekend, and my Dad’s birthday was the week before. I got my Mom and sister a Mother’s Day card, and my Dad a birthday card, and signed them all “Love, Ashley, Peter and Baby Tziros!”. Well, since Dad had the concert the night I arrived, I waited until the next day to deliver the cards. Everyone was a little tired from the previous day’s festivities, but I knew they’d be excited for this news. I handed out the cards, my heart pounding. Each of them opened their card, read the front, read the inside….and put them down after thanking me for the sweet card. My heart still pounding, I realized that none of them had read the signature!! Not. One. of. them. Clearly, they were too tired and bleary from the previous night’s festivities! After a few more minutes of morning coffee and chatting, I broke the news – “Well I guess none of you read your cards, but we’re having a baby!!” We all laughed and cried at the same time! They all couldn’t believe they had missed it!”
“I felt great the whole [pregnancy]! I really loved being pregnant. I was surprised that I felt so good, and that as a result, in the first few months that made me very paranoid. I almost wanted to be sick so I’d know the baby was really in there!”
“[After she was born} My first thought was, “Is it a boy or a girl?!” Peter was supposed to tell me the gender once the baby was out. I looked at him and he was just staring at her. He was smiling and crying at the same time. I asked him, “What is it?” but he was too choked up to speak. I looked down at the baby and saw it was a girl. And I grabbed his hand and said, “We have a girl!” and we both cried as they put her on me, and we couldn’t take our eyes off of her.
“She was infinitely more beautiful that I ever could have expected!”
