I consider myself so incredibly blessed to be able to call this amazing experience, being able to photograph these precious newborn miracles, my job. To be trusted to capture such amazing images of the most beautiful (and crazy) time in a family’s life, is such an unbelievable honor. I count my lucky stars for that honor each and every day.

Catherine’s sweet family came to my studio when she was just a one week old. She was such a doll and her newly promoted Big Brother was such a big helper. He is definitely falling into his new role effortlessly and already adores his baby sister.

I would love to tell you more about this little beauty and how loved she is. So here’s a little more about little Catherine Rose from her gorgeous mama:

“Catherine ended up being fashionably late like her brother so induction was scheduled.  Having gone through this process us before, I thought it was going to be a walk in the park.  The big difference was how quickly active labor started after the induction!  She arrived within 3 hours of the active labor starting.  I almost missed my window of opportunity for an epidural it happened so fast!

“She had lots of dark hair and bright blue eyes when she arrived.”

“[The first few days went] surprisingly, really well!  Catherine slept well from the start allowing us to rest up.  The couple days in the hospital were rather boring and I couldn’t wait to bring her home!  That was when the real fun started :)”

“As second time parents, it felt different than the first time.  We understood the process a little more and knew generally what to expect, allowing us to relax.  We enjoyed all the little moments that we took for granted with our first. “

“We had a really tough time coming up with [her] first name.  We knew Rose was going to be a middle name as it as family name on both sides.  We were 3 days past our due date when the name Catherine even came up as a potential.  Four hours after her birth, our nameless baby was given the name Catherine Rose!”

And their advice to new parents:

“Laughter is the best medicine especially when feeling so overwhelmed.”
