I was so honored to have been chosen to photograph Amy and her growing bump during her studio maternity session. The story of her journey to motherhood and the little miracle growing inside her, who they would name Ava Jewel, was one of the most touching I’ve heard.
Here is just a little glimpse inside her gorgeous maternity session and a little of her beautiful story.
“My husband and I have been together for almost 5 years. I am a nurse and he is a local police officer. Almost 3 years ago we started trying for a baby, many disappointments later, our journey with infertility started. We tried medications and procedures here in Northwest Arkansas and after several unsuccessful attempts we were eventually referred to Dallas, Texas for in vitro. From October to February we travelled to Dallas nearly every other week. In February, God blessed us with a miracle; the in vitro was successful and we are now pregnant.”
“On the way home from our appointment where they confirmed our pregnancy, we discussed baby names. We decided if we had a girl, she would be Ava Jewel Brooks. We just liked the name Ava and Jewel was my grandmothers name. We never could decide on a boy name… thank goodness we had a girl.”
“I loved being pregnant. She was such a blessing that we were uncertain we would ever have. I loved feeling her kick and move around.”
