Sweet little Rylan, and his gorgeous mom and dad, came to the studio for his newborn photo session when he was just under two weeks old. He loved being snuggled and was such a handsome little guy. It was such a wonderful morning, getting to spend time with this sweet boy and getting to know his adorable family who were already completely head-over-heels for him.
Welcome to the world, baby Rylan!
“We found out we were pregnant mid December and had the opportunity to have fun with our announcement. For Austin’s family, his mom quickly asked me if I would like a glass of wine and when I said no thanks (unlike me, I love a glass of wine) she knew. And her eyes filled up with sweet tears. With that lesson learned, we showed up to my family Christmas with a wine bottle filled with cranberry juice and played charades for my parents to guess. We caught it all on tape! It was fun!”
“We found out the gender by a fun gender reveal. We had a scan and then handed the envelope to our best friends who threw a party. Our closest friends and family gathered as our two dogs ran out of the house into the backyard with blue bandanas on that said “it’s a boy!” I am forever grateful to my best friend for throwing that for us!”
“My husband and I have dated for 11 years, and I threw the name Rylan out when we were just dating. He remembered it and brought it back up. Austin is his name and his mothers maiden name and it made her so happy to get to us it. It was sweet to me!”
“Pregnancy was easier for me than I expected. My perspective on what matters changed so quickly. My son taught me to slow life down and I am so grateful for all he is teaching me.
“I think I was pretty nervous about the whole thing to get too excited. I was just one foot in front of the other the whole way. However, my husband is so excited to teach him sports. One of my favorite memories is sitting at lunch with Austin and I made a comment about our son going to the UofA and before I barely took a breath after my comment, he quickly responded that we don’t know where he will get a baseball or golf scholarship to and that it will probably be so many places he may not pick the UofA. It was sweet. I am looking forward to watching Austin teach him sports.”
“Labor was great. It will remain one of my all time favorite days. I hold fondly all our family being there excited and eager to meet Rylan. I felt loved and safe. I was induced so it was a very controlled enviornment. Everyone stayed all night and refused to leave to meet little man. It was a beautiful day.
“How did dad do?? Dad had to have applesauce juice because he looked faint… he is going to kill me for that.
“We also had picked Austin’s grandmother’s birthday to be induced and brought the Bible she gave Austin as a boy with us to the hospital. God is good. ”
“We just both praised God when we saw and heard him safe. He was also so content and small. It was just a whirlwind.
“[The first few days] were wonderful. We were surrounded with family and friends. So much love and help! We are blessed.”
“[Being a parent is] better than expected. He is a really good baby, and we know we are lucky. He is super funny too. Great little personality.We surely have it in for the terrible twos or something.”
And lastly, mama’s advice to new or expecting parents:
“Dont’ google. Ha!”
