At least once a week I was getting little text messages from Mary, updating me on the progress of her pregnancy. As she came closer and closer to her due date, we were all getting so excited to meet that little guy. Then, when she was just three days away from her due date, I got the last update.

She had just been to her final doctor’s appointment where they found out that their sweet little boy had somersaulted into a breech position. It wasn’t what they had planned and wasn’t what she was hoping for (she had the cutest little socks with the words “push” written on the bottom that she was disappointed she wouldn’t be able to use), but they decided to schedule a c-section for that afternoon. As long as he was healthy and safe, it no longer mattered how he arrived. At 2:30pm that day, Mary and Troy would be on their way to welcoming their son.

It was such an honor to be at the hospital with this beautiful family. They have become so dear to my heart and are some of the kindest people I have ever been to lucky to know and be blessed to work with.

Please help me in welcoming their Baby Korben to the world.

The rules at this particular hospital kept me from going into the operating room myself, so we switched to plan B and Daddy took my second camera in with him. He did such a great job photographing these beautiful images below as he stood by his beautiful wife’s side.
