Baby Everett was the absolute, most perfect Mother’s Day gift for Kate (and Dan). Their little guy was born at 3:45 that Sunday morning and instantly they both fell in love. They day he looks just like his Daddy, but with Mommy’s cute little dimple.
He was one of the squishiest little guys I’ve had the honor of snuggling! His rolls were way to perfect and that little button nose… forget about it. It was such a joy getting to chat with Mom and Dad and hear all about their little guy and watch the excitement and adoration in their faces while he was sleeping so peacefully.
Allow me to introduce my new friend, Everett while his Mama tell us a little about him and how perfect he is!
“Dad liked the name Everett (I wasn’t completely sold) then it started growing on me. Several weeks later I told my mom we were thinking of naming him Everett and she got all teary eyed and replied, ‘Thank you, that means so much to me.’ Her father passed away when she was 9, so I was never able to meet him and she never talks about him so I had no idea that his name was Everett! Talk about coincidence, from there we agreed Everett would be his name, after his Grandfather.”
“I loved being pregnant. We didn’t know I was pregnant for the first 20 weeks, haha, so we found out I was pregnant and then one week later found out the gender. It was nice we didn’t have to wait.. and since we were so late the party we decided it would make sense to know the sex to ease the planning of his arrival. We were over the moon that it was a boy since both of us only have sisters for siblings.
“Lucky for me, I had no pregnancy symptoms for the first 5 months (like I mentioned, I didn’t even know), and it wasn’t until the very end that I felt uncomfortable. The best part of being pregnant was how nice strangers are to you, I’ve never had so many doors held for me as I did when I was pregnant.”
“Labor and delivery went smoothly. Dad did great! He was nicknamed “waterboy” from the hospital staff for keeping me so hydrated through the labor.
“The first few days were a blur. I barely remember the first week. We were running on adrenaline and had so many visitors! But I do remember just spending hours staring at my little one. He was the cutest thing I had ever seen!”
And their advice to new parents: “Try to stay calm, if you get frustrated then so will your baby.”
